National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) (UG)-2020 Scheduled on13.09.2020 (Sunday) from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA)

In order to facilitate the candidate, advance information for allotment of Centre City is being given to the application official website(s) of NTA. The Admit Card shall be issued separately shortly.

The downloading of Admit Cards indicating Roll Number, Test Center Number & Address, Question Paper Medium, Reporting/ Entry Time and Gate Closing Time of Center shall commence shortly.

What is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET (UG) –2020

The National Medical Commission Act, 2019 received assent of the President on 08thAugust,2019. Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law. Thus, the admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER and all AIIMS like Institutions will also be made through NEET.

*The time schedule for admission to MBBS/BDS Course has been approved by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in Ashish Ranjan & Ors. Vs. Union of India & Ors. –(2016) 11 SCC 225, which has been subsequently further amended.

  • Each question carries 04 (four) marks.
  • For each correct answer/best option,candidate will get 04(four) marks.
  • For each incorrect answer,01(one)mark will be deducted from the total score.
  • To answer a question,the candidate has to find, for each question, the correct answer/best option.
  • However, after the process of challenge of key, if more than one option is found to be correct then all/any one of the multiple correct/best options marked will be given four marks (+4).Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1). Unanswered/Unattempted questions will be given no marks. In case, a question is dropped/ ignored, all candidates will be given four marks(+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

Mode of Examination

NEET (UG) –2020is a Pen & Paper-based test, to be answered on the specially designed machine gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen.

Duration of Test

The duration of test would be three (03) hours.

Eligibility to appear in NEET (UG) –2020

Eligibility for appearing in NEET (UG)is as per related Regulations is as follows: –

  • He/she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses.
  • The upper age limit for NEET (UG)is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PwD Candidates.
  • Accordingly,the eligibility conditions regarding age limit havebeen revised as under: For Candidates of General(UR)/General-EWS or For Candidates of SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD Category born on or before 31.12.2003
  • Indian Citizens/ Overseas Citizens of India intending to pursue Undergraduate Medical Courses from a foreign Medical/ Dental Institute also need to qualify NEET (UG).
